3 things:

1. I am absolutely blown away by how quick the mastering rack is. No one seems to have mentioned this yet. You can have 4 effects loaded up, yet it doesn't seem to take any longer to process all 4 of them than it would have taken to process one effect on its own!

2. Maybe we could ask Adobe to incorporate a progress bar into the MR window (like you have in Windows Media Player or Winamp for example) which wouldd allow you to drag the cursor through the file while in preview mode?

3. Alternatively, and I know this isn't perfect, but it might be an acceptable workaround... if you're working on a 1hr+ recording, why not create a new file at the same sample rate and bit rate, and copy 10 second sections from the full file to the new file. You'd end up with a short file which had 10 sec grabs all side by side. You could then run the MR and hear how your "chain" was going to sound across all those individual bits. Once you were happy with it, you could save the "chain" in the MR presets, and go off and apply it to the whole 1hr+ file. Just a thought.

... and/or or setup a keyboard shortcut which brings up the mastering rack.  Here it's "e" for "effects".
