Wow, I thought Steve Morse was good but this guy is mind blowing. He must have no girlfriends  grin but don't tell him I said that.

Define 'good'... I'd say that what he was doing was inappropriate. If you look at the Steve Morse original, and what the bass player was doing in that version, I'd say that it fitted rather better.

So it may be 'good',  rolleyes ...but it ain't necessarily musical, is it?

Well now, when it's put like that Steve you do have a point. I was pointing out his abilities as a bass player, however musically, without the backing he may sound rather bland. How about, "is this guy a good bass player" wink

I'd love to hear him play Bohemian Rhapsody

There's no doubt the guy can play - that much is obvious.  This is all highly skilled and technically proficient stuff.

However, after watching the whole clip, I was left totally unmoved by what he had done. So, player he might be, but not one I would want to listen to.

I hmmmm'd and hawwww'd a lot to decide which clip to link.  Her studio version of Use Me is great!  You can find it at http://www.myspace.com/lindsaymacmusic
The whole CD is great, actually.

I'm trying to talk Lindsay into a live CD project.

It's all very clever, but I can't say I find the sound any more attractive than a professional guitar/bass combo! And the same goes for the maniac with the bass - what's it suppose to prove? As far as I can see it is simply a way to get noticed, which is fine in itself, but is it musically any better than anyone else? I think not!
