Deleting a phrase marker in the Marker List window causes AA to bounce all the way back to the top of the list.
If you have a bunch of phrases marked and the Marker Window open, and you make your way down the list of phrases, deleting alternates and mistakes, until you are left with the heap that you need.  Everything is fine until you run out of screen and have to scroll down.  Once that happens, every time you delete a marker, AA scrolls all the way back up to the top, forcing you to scroll BACK down to where you were...sometimes having to FIND your place again.

This utility should help.

Ken TheRiot (I thought that was his real name) just sent me a video outlining how HE uses the marker list and ype thats pretty over the top.

So I'm gonna revise thes app's functionality to bring it more into line (and more useful) to what Ken's up to.

Don't do anything til I get back...  rolleyes

Ok here's the plan and how it's going to work/be improved.

Add the following:-
  • an option so that from AAMarkerList moving down the list with the cursor keys it will trigger a'find' to locate to the same marker in AA's list and at the same time send a mouse double click to play the audio.
  • Add a 'find next' option

As far as improving the 'goes back to the top' problem I'll look at deleting AA's markers from my utility.

All that will be quickly followed by cold fusion and world peace (the loaves & fishes thing has been done before)  shocked

See how we go this week

Ok there's a new version up on the the web http://www.aatranslator.com.au/aamarkerlist.html

I don't use markers to the degree that many others do and certainly nowhere near the extent that Ken does.

Anyway you can use this app to 'audition' the 'phrases' and delete the markers from the Audition list

It looks like it does the job but it may need a few adjustments at the margin so if anyone wants to give it a try and let me know.

This one comes with the usual warranty which - oh it just ran out  shocked

Ok it seems that it works perfectly for every 2nd group of two in the list eg Marker 1 & 2, Marker 5 & 6, etc.

Seem to be somehow registering Right Mouse clicks on the alternate 2 markers.

I knew there was a reason why i shouldn't try this stuff at home ....

I'll be back

It seems that this utility works here but the guy I wrote it for (Ken) seems to be having some intermittent behaviour.

I would appreciate someone(s) downloading this thing and giving it a go.  It was difficult to write (and not normally a project I would take onboard) and without further input from others I have no idea what to change - as it works here.

When I tried it the markers I deleted disappeared from AA's marker list and from the list within AAMarkerList, but not from the top of edit view where they are displayed. Does this have anything to do with the difference between edit view and MT view that you showed me at your place last week?

The concept behind the app was that one could cursor down my marker list and AA would select the phrases & play/audition them.

Works fine here (I think in Edit view) but Ken reports that it plays the first 2 then highlights but does not play the next two etc etc
