virtual sound

what fx effect or vst plug-in can supplicate on stereo wave  48000Hz 16bit to look like virtual surround sound that you feel  come from rear ? that what i hear it from  my   Sony TV  2 channel only but there is an option adjust it to virtual 5.1  what kind of filter  they use t&  transform 2 channel  stereo sound to 5.1 virtual help pls........ thx
