Hi guys!
Here at Radio StadFM in the town of Roosendaal, The Netherlands, we're using Pristine Systems' MMCS system for our radio broadcasts. This system uses Antex SX-7 and SX-12 cards for audio recording and playback. Only problem with this system is that the sound-files that are created are .SPC files. It seems to be some kind of MPEG2 coding or Dolby AC2. Is there a plugin for CEP to edit these files or is there a conversion tool available to use this file-format in CEP?
Greetings and a happy new year,
Robert Schreuder

Hi Robert. As far as MPEG2 support is concerned, Cool Edit no longer uses an MP2 filter. There is a 3rd party developer that designed an MP2 filter, but it is rather pricey and because it is not a Syntrillium product we DO NOT support it, nor guarantee it's functionality.
In particular, seeing as you are using the .SPC file format (which may be a derivative of another file type?) I would probably want to contact Pristine to see about a conversion tool from .SPC to .WAV or perhaps .PSC to MP3 which is an optional plugin for Cool edit Pro, $29.
If you want to check out that 3rd party MP2 filter site, here is the address...

I used the GNU licence MP2 filters from CoolEdit 96, and see them displayed as choices in the save box. I haven't tried them yet, though.
