I am a new user, and not too technically advanced! I want to record mp3 files onto an audio CD. I have discovered that in order to get good quality CDs I have to resample from 48000 to 44100. I also have to convert from mp3 to wav before burning the disk.
If the above it true (seems to work!), then my question is whether I can perform both these tasks in one go, rather than two? The files I am converting are large (60 minutes) and doing two seperate conversions does take time.....
Thanks.

Yes, CD format standard is 44100 and 16 bit.
Under Edit > Convert Sample Type, you can do both of these.

One simple way is to write and use a script that commands Cool edit to first convert your 48K files to 44.1 and then to mp3. While the script is running you can go eat lunch or something.

Hi There. Beetle is absolutely correct in that you can create a script and 'batch conver' your files. There is in fact a downloadable tutorial on performing this task. However, if you are opening files in Cool Edit and converting them, they are technically no longer MP3 anyway, as they become uncompressed upon opening. So, all you really need to do is convert and then save as 16-bit 44,100 windows PCM wave (another opp to use a script)
