I bought a Delta 4x4 to go along with CoolEdit, but I've been having frustrating problems with it ever since. What happens is whenever I record, I'll play it back and it will occasionlly clip... and LOUD. However, the clipping is not displayed in the recorded waveform, I can only hear it. If I mix the tracks down, then I can see the clipping, or sometimes it will go away. I've tred tweaking with the RECORD/PLAY buffers, but with little luck... Mabye there is a setting I'm missing, I'm really not sure at this point. Any advise would be fantasic.
Thanks,
Pablo

Hello. We have a Delta 66 here and have had great success. I would first recommend updating to their latest driver 4.1.22.27(not their latest WDM driver, but the other one) I believe the revision date is Jan 12, 2001...Here is the link;

this seems to have solved some similar issues. If you continue to have problems, please email us directly. You might also verify (if you are in Multitrack View) that your levels are not too hot. It almost sounds as if when you play back multiple tracks (or mix them for that matter) that you're not verifying their combined levels and as a result, you're clipping. You can attenuate each tracks volume in the track channel strip, or attenuate the entire session with the Master Volume which is near the top left of the screen, below the MT/Edit View toggle button.

Go into the control panel and set the levels appropriately. The Deltas have 3 choices -10dB, "consumer" and +4dB.
What are you recording, and through what equipment? If you use a +4 level, you have less headroom than a -10, in case it's not obvious how that works.
When you say the clipping isn't displayed in the waveform, do you mean that the wave isn't at the "rails" in CE, or that it has a normal shape like a normal wave? If you mean the second one, then it's probably not clipping at all. If you mean the first one, then it might be limiting outside the card, say in your mixer?

I have a delta 66 as well and I am having some extremely frusterating problems.
Let's say I've recorded drums on track one. I try to record guitar on track two, and everytime I get the drums, not just the guitar.
I have tried every possible setup-or maybe not. I just want to record eacj track independently, like I did when I had a crappy soundcard.
Can someone please explain to me in simple terms(as I have read the instruction book many times) how to accomplish this. I know that it is possible, but what am I doing wrong?
Thanx
Corey
