Hi there,
I use the Mastering Compressor from Sonic Timeworks. But I think there are some little probs working with CoolEdit2000.
1. When I choose 'cancel' while processing and then turn to the Mastering Compressor , I see that I have lost all my presets; but if I launch CE2K again the presets are back.
2. I can't hear the editting in the soft-mode in realtime; only after the process I hear the different.
3. Sometimes it doesn't show the sample rate.
A pity ...

Using third party plug-ins in CE often seems to cause problems. The ideal solution would be for Syntrillium to sort out the code to increase cross-compatibilty or for them to release more quality native plug-ins - particulalry useful would be some mastering tools.

Since you mentioned CE, have you checked out the Tweakin Toys and Phat Pack PlugIns? These include some great transform effects (including Hard Limiter, Pan/Expander, Full Reverb and more) that are great for mastering. Also, the Parametric and Graphic EQs (part of the ProEQ plugIn) are quite highly regarded for their natural, very musical sound.

While it is true that the CE and CEP built in effects can be surprisingly good, you do not, as of yet, include a multi-band limiter or multi-band compressor. I'm talking about effects like the Waves C4 compressor (a thing of beauty!!) or the db Audio multi-band limiter (effective in certain applicaitons). Yes, I am aware that I can frequency limit a dynamic effect and then reapply over a different frequency range CREATING a quasi multi-band dynamic effect, but that is more hassel than it's worth. I am hoping to see something like this in the next version of CEP.

Trilly and Craig, I am hoping too, to see something like the Doppler (effect plugin) from Waves in the next version of CEP/CE2K.
I am hoping ...
