I'm using one of these with CoolEdit Pro: It was pretty much "install the card and use it". It just appeared as 3 extra Windows recording devices (1+2, 3+4, Monitor mix) and 2 extra play devices (1+2, 3+4). You then go into the Device Preferences, and pick some of your I/O devices from the drop down lists so that you have (maybe) the 1+2 record and play devices as your first choice sound device.
Any specific problems you're having?

Yes, as MJB explained, the Deltas seem to have very seamless windows-CEP integration. You might consider downloading the latest driver/delta panel from their website.

If you are using Win95,98,Me you'll want to be sure to get the first set of drivers listed for the Delta 44, version 4.1.22.31, updated 4/16.
Keep in mind as well, that your input levels and selection are also made in the Delta control panel, not just Cool Edit.

I am starting out with digital recording and have the Dela44 and Cool Edit Pro...I'm can't find in the doc anything about whether it is possible to record multiple tracks simultaneously...is this possible with CEP? With this configuration?

Absolutely. The Delta 44 appears as multiple devices, and you tell CoolEdit (under Device Preferences) that you want to use both of the stereo devices it provides -- that's 4 tracks.
Next, when recording, you click on the little red "1" on the track, and select one of the two stereo devices. Finally, pick either the left or right channel to get the particular channel you want.
I've managed to get 4 tracks of simultaneous record at 44Khz/16 bit no problems. Not yet pushed it to 4 tracks of 96K/24 bit yet ...
