I am trying to get some "good" quality voice recording through the computer and would like some microphone suggestions? I like the headset/boom mike configuration, but is there a good combination out there somewhere?
I would gladly go to a headset, seperate microphone setup if needed with some microphone suggestions? thanks

hi Bill. While I'm a bit confused by your headset/boom mic combination comment (umm, these are two different things, no?) I will say that in general, the Headset mics are not of great quality. That's because there primary purpose is typically for phone and/or net communication of voice where fidelity is limited to begin with.
If you're looking to do 'broadcast' level voice, you'll really need to get a decent dynamic mic or (for best fidelity) a good condenser, which then also needs a phantom power source.
There are many good dynamic, cardiod broadcast mics out there that are widely used. Shure makes a load of them...AKG is another. All varying in price range and configuration.
Of course, depending on your soundcard's inputs, you may or may not need a separate pre-amp or mixer with pre's to properly gain stage your mic signal. This is recommended for better quality anyway, but obviously ups the price of the overall expense.

Hey Bill...
You may, indeed, not get quality audio with the types of mics that Synt Support has in mind.
There are a boatload of other possibilities out there though...
So try a real, professional headset mic from AKG or Audio-Technica.
The ATM75 is great cardioid condensor headset mic with 60-15kHz response, weighs almost nothing, and sounds really excellent.
I'm sure others have suggestions for professional grade headset mics, but that would be mine, as its cost is not excessive.
All the best... -Jon

Hi to all. This is no to Bill but it's about Mics an pre-ambs. First: I am working just with voice for radio-features. I am using a good mic, I think, the AKG-TPS D3700, but I am using my minidisc-player like pre-amb. The sound is good, but a little bit boring.
I would like to know your experience about the EQ of the CE2000. Wouldn't it be better to buy a little mixer with a pre-amb for the mic and a EQ? Thanks!
