I'm curious whether there's a simple way to set up a remote control device of some sort for CEP (just the transport buttons). I'm getting way too much background noise from the computer when recording my own tracks, since I have to set up the mics close enough to the PC that I can operate the mouse. Any ideas, short of adding a second monitor/keyboard/mouse on the other side of the room?

Hello. Well, you could set up a MIDI keyboard and use Midi Trigger to start/stop the recording process. This of course requires that (a) you have a soundcard with Midi; (b) you have a MIDI synth; and (c) you have a nice long MIDI cable.
That, short of starting the computer, running to the next room and beginning the recording, is probably the best way to go. Though, admittedly, I have been known (in some situations) to start recording on the PC and then running clear across the studio (where all the gear is) and begin playing.
Sometimes it adds that 'on top of the beat' effect! (just kidding)

Thanks! I don't do much sequencing, but I do have everything but the long MIDI cable. Guess I'll turn that crummy old Casio keyboard into something useful!

Sounds like a plan! Good luck. Remember, the MIDI triggers can be activated with either (a) Midi Notes; or (b) Midi Controller Numbers.
