Does anybody know of a shareware program or plugin that wiill separate the audio track from a video file (MPEG, AVI, WMF, RAM) and produce an audio file that can be loaded into CoolEdit? Also, when edited,I'd like a program to replace the audio track of the same file with my new track (but my video editor can do that, awkwardly.) I have had no luck finding anything that will save the audio track separately. If you knoe of an answer, please email me.
That was the first question. Since then I have found an excellent stripper/recombiner shareware program from Japan: "tmpgenc.ese". which is available at www.afterdawn.com. The only problem is that the soundtrack comes out as MP2, which CoolEdit can't read. Is there a plugin to read MP2 files?

1) Probably not for free...
Try searching here first - you might be surprised at all the information you can find.
By the way, here's something else about MP1/2:

2) CEP2 will open audio from video for editing and save it back to video (.avi only).

Albeit, while I admittingly don't do this sort of thing, nor use Ver2.0, I thought IT did what your asking. If you can open it, you should be able to rename and save the the file as whatever you choose. Again, I don't use 2.0, but it sure seems possible. Free....? NO.
