I have a copy of Sound Forge 6 and I just want to keep the plugins from it to use with Cool Edit; how do I do this without having to keep Sound Forge 6 in the computer?

The plugins are just DLL files, right? I tried moving them before, but something is removed when I uninstall SF6, and the plugins become unrecognizable by Cool Edit.
I want to keep the plugins that are with SF6 so I could use them for Cool Edit because Cool Edit has a way better interface. For a $400 program, one would think that SF6 would have a better looking design.

If you uninstall the program it will unregister the plugins, but if you simply delete it (thus leaving the registry entries intact) it should leave the plugins usable. You'd have to be careful when using regclean or the like in future, however.

I have the same situation with SF5. I think I've only run it once, but I love the plugins. I just leave it installed and access what I want through CEP!
