Using Cool Edit Pro 2.0. I created a large audio file and wanted to split it up and save as individual .wav files. Inserted cues into the large file by pressing F8. Made sure there's a cue at beginning and end. Went to view >> Show cue list >> Selected all cues and clicked MERGE. Clicked the BATCH button to save to CD but nothing happened. Tried several times with the same result. Any advice?

Hi,
Did you select the cues in the cue list before you clicked on MERGE? And after that, did you re-select them before clicking on batch? I think that's what went wrong here. Let us know.

Every time I make individual tracks, I make the ques with F8. I do nothing to change the ques' nature before merging them for tracks.
The way I read Dave Z's post is that he selected all the ques, then clicked on merge. This does nothing. It is necessary to select only the two cues that identify the beginning and end of a track and merge those. Likewise do the same for the two ques of each and every other track.

I've gone through step-by-step what was demonstrated in Tutorial #3 (Track Split). I placed five cues (including one at the beginning and end) in my one large audio file. Then in the Cue List, I selected all five cues and Merged them into four cues (each has a beginning and end time). Made sure the cue type was "Track" instead of "Basic." Then re-selected all the cues and clicked Batch (which was not greyed-out). But the "Batch Process Phases" window shown in the Tutorial never pops up to give me the option to save to files. That's the part I can't get past.

Nevermind, guys - I figured it out. Seems you need to be in "Edit" view instead of "Multi-Track" view to get the Batch Save to work. Thanks for all the tips.

Yes, the process is intended to operate on your mixed-down file in edit view.
I've commented before however that it's a pity that the facility appears to be available in MT view when it isn't.
