Recently my extraction tool with CEP has stopped working. It was fine until a few weeks ago when our tech guys changed our software from XP to 2000. I suspect this may be the cause but even our tech guys are at a loss as to the problem. There are 3 other CEP machines in the building but this has only occured on two. They have re-installed CEP on the other computer but it still didn't work and I'm putting off trying it on mine as I'll loose all my settings again which I've only just got back after changing to 2000.
I also thought that maybe there was a bug in XP causing the problem that it seems I, and many others have, of being unable to perform multitrack recording without overlaying of the first track into the second. But it seems that still won't work and I've all but given up trying to figure that one out.
If anyone has any ideas on what the problem with the extraction tool is please let me know. It's baffling our tech guys and they'd love to know.

Try both settings in options > settings > system > CD device options (if you haven't already!).
If you are having trouble with track one bleeding into track two, the first port of call is the "Settings the Windows Mixer" thread on the "Tips and Tricks" forum here.

I don't have that option but I've checked the link and it appears I need to download a newer version to get it. I'll speak the IT people about it tho'. Cheers.
As for the track bleed. I followed the windows mixer on XP and 2000 but it still won't work. It may have somnething to do with the way my mixing desk is set up and routed but I haven't figured out what it could be yet.
Thanks for the info

This might be a fix, but it should be done regardless (XP Only) if you already have a CD Burning program:
Go to START > MY COMPUTER; Right Click on your CD/RW drive.
Click the properties tab, then click the RECORDING tab.
Uncheck "Enable CD Recording on this device"
This item refers to the native XP burning program (Roxio) and
it should be unchecked if you are using other CD Burning programs,
or for that matter, if you have installed your own version of Roxio.
This also might be a source of your problem ripping CD's from within CEP.
Hope it helps:)
