I don't mean to spam the forum (I added a very similar post as a reply to another thread), but I would like to find a solution to this issue.

I am an MX-2424 (Tascam 24 track HD recorder) user and I have a similar question. The Broadcast wav file that the MX downloads has a timestamp embedded. However, when I edit a file downloaded from MX with CE2000 then upload it to the MX (download and upload via the MX software), the positioning data is gone. This is a real pain in the butt, as the MX has a lot of professional features (like "load to original position") that make it easy to manipulate recordings but that also rely on the timestamp data.

Does anyone know if there is a setting in CE2000 that avoids screwing up the timestamp data?

Thanks,

Poco

This is something I've been wanting to test for a long time. The short answer is likely no, at least within CE2000, which doesn't support EBU extensions and so forth (which is where that time stamp resides. However, CEP2.1 does support this (Control+P brings up Wave Properties, and click on the EBU extensions tab).

My suggestion, Poco, is that you download a trial version of CEP2.1 and enjoy it free for three weeks. Please let us know if you can edit the MX2424 files and successfully import them back to it. It should work.

Then, if you're a registered owner of CE2000, you can upgrade to Adobe Audition (repackaged CEP2.1) for a nicely discounted price of $99 when it comes out in the (supposedly) near future.
