I have a bunch of mp3's recorded at CBR 128Kbps.
What settings should I use to losslessly convert theese to VBR?

Thanks

You shouldn't. Leave them as is. Otherwise you'll get a smaller file size and much lower level of quality in your audio. While the frist is nece, you certainly don't want the second.

In other words, there is no such thing as a "lossless" recompression of an mp3, because that's how the format is designed. And any time you re-compress something from a lossy format, it gets lossier. Heed Craig: it will sound worse, and from a technical point of view, there is no advantage whatsoever.
