Hi,
Is it possible to edit regions... I've got this audio file I want to edit but sometimes I decide later I want a bit more audio at some points.... but when it's cut I can't get it back anymore... What do you guys consider the best way of editing files

It really depends on what sort of files you are talking about. If it's relatively short straight speech (eg interviews) I'd just make a copy, divide it up into the useful segments and edit away. You can then always pull more stuff from the original file.
You can perform similar feats by juggling between tracks in the multitrack mode.
You do need to give more info about what you are actually trying to edit and what other processing or mixing you are doing during the 'editing' process.

It's an audio file of one of the mic's in an multitrack recording. But this one recordign there's to much spill to gate it so I need to edit it.
But sometimes when I edit it and when I'm finished I hear that I cut of the sustain too much. So then that's what I need back....but that isn't that as easy, as it is with Protools or Cubase...

Yes, it is. Make sure while in Multitrack View, under View you've enable "Block Edge Dragging." Then you can do exactly what you've requested, and that is to lengthen or decrease the length of a block (provided you've not used the entire wave to make up a block, in which case you could obviously only shorten it).
