Can someone pass on some info on what settings they're using in CEP with this card in order to get multitracking to work correctly? In particular being able to hear previous tracks and a new input at the same time?
I use Monitor Mixer in the Delta Panel. In Cep Device Properties I use "M Audio Delta AP Multichannel". This isn't the option M-Audio recommended to me (they said it was for systems having more than one soundcard) but it's the onlt one that works correctly. Everything else results in some wierd multitrack behavior...being unable to hear what's being recorded, bouncing track one to the new track, etc.
The Audiophile is the only soundcard I'm using but the PC does have Soundmax onboard sound, which I've disabled in the bios. I haven't removed the drivers though....
Along these lines, does it matter which driver you use in edit view? I'm currently using the Multichannel there as well. I just want to be sure that using this setting doesn't result in some degrading of the cards abilities.
Thanks.

George
I also have an M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 and also a Yamaha SW1000.
I'm not an audio expert but these are my experiences with the card.
I can use either AP Monitor or Multichannel for recording. It seems to be similar to a mixer where you can review and Monitor what's happening (on a single channel) or listen to the whole mix. Monitor acts as a sort of loopback if you have other audio coming through the same inputs (and outputs) from an external source or on other tracks in CEP. If you use Monitor you must make sure your other tracks are muted. This is difficult if you want to hear an intrumental track(s) whilst you are recording.
Using Multichannel is much easier as you can review your mix whilst only recording on the track you have selected. And that's what I usually do.
hope this helps

It does. I read through a lot of older posts and rairly saw the Multichannel option mentioned, which is why I asked. I suppose it may be something that's found in more recent drivers.
Thanks Ray.
