just a quick question on bitrate.... okay i just purchased Stanton Finalscratch, which is software that lets you minipulate digital files with the use of analog turntables. In order to receive the best quality sound of my mp3's it is recommended that you should use 192 bitrate for optimum sound. Now my question, is there a way with CEP2 that i can change some of my files that are 160 and 128 to become the bitrate of 192 or do i have to download all of my millions of songs over again.....uggghhhhh!!??? any advice guys.
Thanks
Romelle

Unfortunately, using a lossy compression format, the damage is already done to your music, so re-encoding it again to get a different bit-rate (which you can certainly do, if you really wanted to) will only degrade the music further - and it will be exponentially worse. If you can find copies at 192, you really should use those. The degradation from re-encoding an already compressed song is not necessarily going to go unnoticed. ;)
Best of luck.... -Jon

Or...to paraphrase Jonrose, yup, opening the file then using Save As will let you reset the MP3 bit rate, but it WON'T improve the sound. The recoding will actually degrade things.

Yes, that's probably what I should have said!
Heh!
Thanks for simplifying it.
Best... -Jon
