No reason why you shouldn't post this here, but to be honest you will probably get more help on one of the forums related to Creative products, where you'll be talking to a much larger group of users. Last time I had troubles with my Platinum card, searching with Google turned up a suitable forum where I found the answers I needed without even needing to post a question.

Good luck taking anything back to Best Buy. Their techs know enough to install a sound card, modem, etc., but troubleshooting is NOT their strong suit.

Recommend you seek out the KX drivers for the SB Live!, Audigy & Audigy 2 series of cards at: www.kxproject.com.

The KX drivers, developed, supported and distributed by some fellow in Russia (for free) are far superior to the drivers Creative uses. They (Creative) should buy the KX drivers from the Russian gentlemen and then everybody would be using quality drivers instead of the junkie ones Creative ships and the guy who writes them would be compensated for a job well done.

I'm guessing it's a new computer so any Win98 issues probably don't apply. But, for Win98 users, note the KX drivers are based on the WDM model and NOT VXD. WDM drivers are much better than VXD drivers for any hardware for which they're available. So, go for it. Cool
