Try these settings for XP with the M-Audio 5.10.00.0027 driver:
In the Delta Control Panel...
Monitor/Mixer: Boost all levels.
Patchbay: Select "Monitor Mixer"
In CEP...
Device Properties...
Wave Out: Select "M Audio Delta AP Multichannel"
Wave In: Select "M Audio Delta AP Multichannel"
This should work. I've gone through all the other combinations and this is the only one that worked correctly for multitracking. I've learned that this is one of the most common questions on setting up the 2496 with CEP. Apparently (or so I was told on R.A.P) CEP won't turn audio input back around to an output for monitoring so the 2496 has to be set up to do it. Based on some exchanges I've had with M-Audio they're not quite up to speed on how CEP works. It get's somewhat confusing when talking to other 2496 users since earlier driver options are described differently. Once set up correctly the card and CEP work very well together.
