hello,
when recording i get little clicks. they usually appear just before / around big peaks but the signal is NOT clipping in CEP2. i have tried a bunch of stuff including updating drivers, optimising O/S (priority to background services etc), even switching motherboards (from VIA chipset to nforce2). i have no irq or pirq conflicts. definitely happening in multitrack view, not sure about edit view (i am at work and cannot check now). the only thing i have left to try is adgusting the buffers but this did not help o my via setup... i have also checked that the original signal is not clipping (as i guess if you had the track quite low in CEP it would not hit the headroom but the signal could be clipped coming into the soundcard).
has anyone got any ideas?
i am getting fantastic results apart from this but i want to use more 'live' stuff in my tracks...

Hmm... we usually start with the buffer adjustment! You may find that this makes more difference than you think - yes, it does vary a bit between different chipsets - it rather depends on the way tasks are handled. You may find that you have to adjust this quite a bit to get a click-free result - it can take ages!
Also, make sure that you've got the latest Terratec driver installed from the firm's website - not the one that came on the CD with the card!

thanks for the reply steve. that is quite reassuring!!! i have found stuff on the forums about adjusting the buffers so i will try this out and report back. ps i do have the latest drivers... really glad to hear i have missed the thing that is most likely to sort out the problem as this means i can probably get it sorted.... i was even doing things like flashing the BIOS, and adding FSB spread spectrum (a bios feature that minimises electrical interference by modulating the FSB frequency slightly)!

How could you not have missed it. Since you clearly didn't look anywhere. You just went around nonsensically changing.......Oh well.
Good Luck ! Hope it works for you.
