hi there this sounds like it wont take much but heres the problem. i have CEP2, windows XP, 1gig processor.
when i play a recording, the meter reading starts to go but isnt in time with the music then after about 16 bars, it stops altogether???
any suggestions.

I think the metering comes from the soundcard (I'm open to correction, however!) - so what's the soundcard? Have you got it correctly defined in Options > Device Properties and Device Order?

What soundcard is it? There have been some problems with this in relation to WDM drivers, and it's important that you get the right (usually equals latest) one for your particular card.

Cool Edit gets its metering information directly from the soundcard's driver, so as Steve says, this is a critical issue!
