I'm editing a CD.

In the middle of the song, there is a gap. I zoom in, and I find the gap.

When I try to delete it, it not only deletes the gap, but a bit of the song as well. I just want the gap gone!

Basically, part of the waveform is highlighted where I don't want it to be highlighted. And It doesn't let me highlight where I want it to be highlighted.

Please Help!

I think you need to zoom in a bit more. Also, try turning "snapping" off because I can't think of anything else that would interfere with selection.

But keep in mind, when you get rid of the "gap", you still may wind up with a skip in the audio where the gap was.

Also, check Options/Settings/Data to see if smoothing of delete and cut boundaries is set to a high number. If so, it's "eating" some of the intended audio to perform the crossfade.

Yeah but, he's saying he can't highlight what he wants. Which reminds me, if you're zoomed in too much, to the sample level, you won't be able to plant the cursor at the exact point you click on either. So it could be he's zoomed in too much. Sigh.......... Big Grin

Ah, very true. I seem to be guilty of reading a short question too quickly!

I think your snapping suggestion was a likely take on it, William.

Thanks!
