Hi All. I'm new here. I have been doing some home recording with a couple pals using 2 older Adats in sync. It's fine and all that.
I'll try to make this to the point. I have cool Edit, the old version on my PC. I think it's better than the Adats. And I can also mix, and edit with Cool Edit.
BUT, I have another friend who has a full blown Pro Tools Studio who will mix my stuff for 25 Bucks an hour.
Is it possible to burn all..lets say 24 tracks of Cool Edit tracks onto a CD? Which I could then take to the Protools studio?
And is it possible to then load all 24 tracks seperately into the Protools system? If it's possible, I haven't figued it out yet.
I really want to show my 2 friends and song writing partners that Cool Edit is by far Superior to a couple antique Adats.
Thanks for any feedback. It's MUCH appreciated. Cheers!

You can very easily burn your tracks onto cd and load them into protools. problem is, that all multitrack settings you may have(pan, volume and such) will not transfer over. the individual tracks are just wave files(or whatever format you have saved them as) and can be loaded as such.

Hi Caleb. And Thanks. I 'Think' I understand what you mean. Not sure.
In other words, any editing or adding of effects AFTER the track was recorded in it's dry form? ....will not transfer to protools?
If so, fine. That's exactly what i want. Just put the tracks on, as is. Take them to a guys house, Mike Breen actually. And let HIM do the doctoring of the tracks.
I have never messed around with effects, or looping or punching. I just play what i play, and let it stand. Clams and all. What a knowedgable protools guy is compress each track properly, EQ, little reverb here and there and clean up the beginning and the end.
So, can I teach myself how to burn such a CD from the CoolEdit Tutorial? Thanks again Caleb. Much appreciated!

Just use something like NERO, or EZ CD creator to do your cd.. I have not had good luck with CEP's burning utility.
You would do it as though you were doing any other data CD.
One other thing I should mention is track placement.
IE: Track one starts at 0:00.00 on the counter, but track two starts at 1:31.90..
You will have to manually place track two at the right time when loaded in ProTools. All that info is kept in the CEP session file, which os no good on ProTools
If all your tracks start at 0:00.00, then no problem.
