Ok, first with the system inf...
Cool Edit Pro 2.0
Win XP
Roland U-8

Now my problem (which could possibly be just to do with the u-Cool but here goes anyway...
I have my input and output settings going through the in and out sources of the u-8
Everything is fine recording the first track, both recording and playback work well, however, when i try to record a second track (both are of guitar) the playback of the first track is sent back as input - along with what i am playing. Effectively making track two a mix of both the first and second tracks...i just can't seem to seperate them!
Additionally the same problem occurs if i have the metronome running, ie. the metronome sound will be recorded as part of the wavefile even on the first track...

Hope that all made sense and maybe someone can help me cos i haven't been able to find any other problems with the u-8 in the forums...

Cheers

Check through the "Setting the windows mixer" thread in the "tips and tricks" forum here and see if that answers your question - I'd say 90% it will!

Cheers mate, sounded promising but no return...
For some reason i can't adjust my 'recording' controls in the windows mixer (the 'recording' and 'other' check boxes are both greyed over...) which makes me think it is more a problem with the u-8...

Do those controls get ungreyed if you uninstall or simply unplug the Roland, I wonder?

Nope, no luck there either...
I'd already tried turning it off and that just makes the U-8 controls leave the windows mixer, leaving only my soundblaster controls there, i'm gonna keep playing with it...maybe i should try and find my roland manual...
