I am trying to create a CEP script to FULLY AUTOMATE
splitting a set of large (90+ min) .wav recordings of speech
(at silent spots, of course) into roughly 10 minute chunks.
Searching this forum I found discussions on how to split
recordings of MUSIC tapes/LPs on TRACK boundaries. I understand
how to do that, and why it's almost impossible to FULLY automate
that - some false silence will always get marked, and correct
ones missed.
But my goal is different. I don't care WHICH silence I cut on
(as long as it's long enough, and that's easy to define). But
once I put down 1 cue, I don't want to do it again for 10 min,
and that's the part I can't seem to figure out.
Essentially, what I'm hoping to do is this:
1) Jump forward 10 min
2) Find next silence and drop a cue for a cut.
3) Go back to (1) and repeat till end of file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
If this can't be done in CEP but you know of another tool
that can/might do this AUTOMATICALLY, please let me know.
(I know of Mp3DirectCut which will do this to mp3 files
with a manual "jump 10 min", "find next silence", "cut"
sequence)
Thanks,
- Mike
