Again, I used Cool Edit pro for learning to play new songs the other night. I took a CD recording and ripped the song I wanted into Cool Edit, selected the part of the song I wanted to learn how to play, hit the loop button, set the volume levels and played along with the song.
The whole setup process only took 2-3 minutes, and was the easiest way to do this that I ever done. It worked great !!
I saved the file, and can go back to it anytime I want, in a matter of seconds.
If I want to take it a step further, I can send the track into multi-track and record my playing along with the song, to listen for weak spots that need work.
Yep, CEP is a great tool for musicians !!

For musicians, you can also slow down the tricky parts, while retaining the pitch. What would I have given to be able to do that forty years ago?
CEP is a great tool for lots of things - I think we all agree about that.

Yes and even better, you can go into the analizer graph and see the chord name bouncing around, it's not real accurate, but will give you a general idea of the note, chord or key.
You can also run it thru the eq and amplify the part you want by changing the filters. This was a big problem for bass players years ago. Some bass parts were difficult to hear which the notes being played were.
