I'll keep this simple:

Track 1 = Kick = Output 1
Track 2 = Snare = Output 1
Track 3 = Mono Acoustic Guitar = Acoustic on your Bus Mixer

Hit play >> Access your bus mixer >> hit solo >> you still hear all of the instruments where you'd expect you'd only hear the acoustic guitar.

Why?

Well, the actual intended behavior of this solo button is to mute all other busses, not all other tracks.

However we do know that, although the intended behavior works correctly, the intended behavior is not what a normal user would expect. They would expect it to work just as you expect it work, clothesburner.

So, although it's not technically a bug, it is something that we will be looking into in the future.

I remember this being on Graeme's 'bug list' when version 2.0 was first released. But as ProSupport indicates, "that's not a bug, it's a feature"! :)

Well, my concern is that, let's say there was another acoustic on track four and I wanted track three and four to share a similar reverb. I create a bus >> set the output for track three and four to that bus >> dial in my reverb >> what is being affected? Just what I sent to the bus or the entire mix b/c, using the example from before, when I sent the mono guitar to the bus mixer and added reverb, it sounded like the snare and kick had been reverberated as well. Was that just my ears playing tricks on me? What, technically, is suppose to happen?

Only the tracks that you send to the bus should have the bus effects applied to them. If another track (that you didn't send to the bus) suddenly has reverb, then that's a bug (and I'd definitely want to hear about it!)

You could create a new bus with no effects and send tracks 1 & 2 to it... Then the bus solo (of tracks 3 and 4) would work as you expected. Cumbersome, I know...
