Hello, I have a problem with cool edit 2k.
The computer I was using had win 98 se and was great, I formated the drive and installed win xp pro, (that is the only change, no hardware at all has been changed) and now after installing cool edit 2k on the completely up dated system the splash page shows and when it closes and the program is supposed to start, nothing happens. I need to use this program and I can not get it to run. Has any had this problem or does anyone know how to fix it?
I have tried to change the compatability to different settings and has no change.
Please help.

Have you tried re-installing the program (WITHOUT uninstalling) to refresh everything? Also, the default folders in XP for the startup settings are different, so it may not know where to look.

yes i have tried everything i can think of. this is the last thing. i have no idea what the deal is. sigh....... man...... what a week!!!!!!

My experience with Windows XP was also disapointing. A perfectly
running cool edit pro 2.1 (under 98SE) stuttered on playback with
win xp. After trying all the fixes, upgrading all the drivers, tweaking all the buffers etc. and disabling all the system process running in the background it still didn't work properly. I am back to 98SE and wished I hadn't wasted all that time.
