Not sure if anyone would even know the answers to these, but here goes. Ok, so I want to buy the boxed version of Cool Edit Pro because I like boxed versions of things. However, it seems to be out of stock. Now, what I'm wondering is, will it be back in stock soon, or does this have something to do with Adobe taking it over? Do I have to buy Adobe Audition instead, and is it available now? And if CEP is going to come back in stock, would it be better to just buy AA instead anyway? I mean, will I need to upgrade anyway? For example, I don't know much about this, but this loopology.com...when Adobe takes over, will I need to have the software registered as an Adobe product to use the site, or is it an independant site? And those loop CDs you can buy, I'm guessing they would work with AA right? Since it's the same program. Basically, if I buy CEP, do I not have to worry about upgrading to AA ever if I don't want to?

This is not definitive... but I think that it answers your questions.
You probably won't ever get CEP in a box - not now, anyway. You might want to consider (if you still can) buying CE2000 basic, and getting the upgrade price to Audition - this comes out cheaper than buying Audition directly - but you'll have to be a bit quick, I think. I don't think that you need to have the S/W registered to use the site - people like you initially trying the demo version often have legitimate questions, and they've always been welcomed here.
Yes, Audition will still handle loopology loops - if you look on the Adobe Audition pages where the spec is detailed, you'll find that they're still there.
As for upgrades to CEP - there obviously wont be any. The upgrade path is through Audition from whenever it's launched - ie not quite yet!

Adobe has said from the get go that Audition will be out "at the end of August". So you can take them literally and wait 2 weeks, or you can realise that it's software, which still means the end of August but they didn't tell you what year.
