So I've got a bunch of wav files that I want to bring into ProTools... problem is, PCs and Macs read file names differently... so when I try to open stuff up on the Mac, I don't know exactly what I'm looking at. Does anyone know of a way to make a Mac-readable filename in Cool Edit Pro?

Which version of ProTools?
Won't it read a standard uncompressed PCM RIFF/WAV file?
If not, a quick trawl of the internet reveals that there are many import utilities out there, some of which are quite Digidesign-friendly...

I've never used PT, but I shuttle files back and forth all the time between my PC and my girlfriend's Mac. As far as I can tell, Macs don't read wav files any differently.
One thing I have noticed with Macs is that sometimes, depending on how you transfer things and what your default settings are, the Mac will clip the extension off the file. So you would have to manually change "Baby_Let's_Play_House" to "Baby_Let's_Play_House.wav"
Dunno if that helps.

I could be wrong, but I think PT uses AIFF files...and I'm pretty sure you can save as AIFF in CEP.

Pro Tools, (since 5.0) has been able to import .wav and .aif files. Make sure your 24 bit .wav files are saved as 'type 1, 24bit' data as any other format is not recognized. This is kind of a drag since CEP doesn't save or create peak files for this type of 24 bit data. Likely (if you are working in 24 bit) your .wav files are being saved as 'type 3, 32 bit data' since this is floating point and requires no dithering when saving from CEP (and it also creates peak files which make session and file load times Much faster). If you are in doubt about all of this, just save to .aif and it will make sure that your 24 bit data is of the correct type for Pro Tools.
If you're going to make the exchange many times, you have some money lying around and the Pro Tools system you're going to has Digitranslator or the OMF Tool you could look into purchasing EDL Convert Pro (I'm not from the company, just a happy customer) as it will allow you to transfer your whole session by converting it to an OMF file. This will transfer all your track layouts and volume envelopes as well.
