I think this poll is one of those which should allow for choosing several options. Personally I voted for recording/mixing (and producing). That's what I practice at home and regard this as my main creative activity. But for living - I work at the production studio (my day job) making spots, voice-overs, jingles... and whatever else for our radio(s).

I agree! I've done recording, mixing, mastering, restoration, AND voice recording with CEP2, and on an occasional-to-regular basis expect all of these to continue.

Yep, a multiple choice would be great for this question.

I looked for the option for making multiple choices, but this BBS does not seem to support it.Black Eye

By the way, Paul, if I'm not mistaken, one cannot actually "view results" before voting without losing their chance to vote. I'll try it on another poll to be sure, but I wasn't able to vote this one.

edit...

Verified. Couldn't vote another poll after previously hitting the "results" button. So this must be the penalty for "peekers", eh Paul? heh-heh-heh....

Jon,

You were the first to figure it out! It is to keep the peekers from being persuaded by previous votes. I don't think I would call it a "penalty", but rather a choice one gets to have.

Oh and currently one poll is a "Featured Poll", which is displayed on the main forum page. After a member votes, the poll no longer appears on the main page.

Paul

Thanks for the verification, Paul.
I actually think that's fair enough...

I was more curious than anything, about the results thus far on this poll, since I couldn't really make one choice or the other on it anyway, so that's how I managed to discover it.

Yeah, same here... I could be accused of being party to all of the activities listed in this poll.

As well as composition & recording, i used CEP to sort out 4 hours of recorded interview that was done with people who had witnessed UFO sightings etc. The topic was not only wierd but when the intereview got home from his journey the cassettes he had recorded, played back in variable speed triple time.......completely unrecognisable. i was able to slow down stretch /pitch change, fiter and edit the dialogue so that it creates two very fine CD's. CEP Very cool program. BUT i'm looking for info thread on my "multitack going out of sync" over a 4 min track. I have loads of processing power & Hard Drive and think that my SB live Plat was a con and just doesnt cut it. Any advice from admin. much appreciated !!
Thanks

The poll didn't mention Theatre either..... I've used CEP to produce "sound effects" for a community playhouse. Put them on CD and then made a "Track Sheet" up so the soundman could use it to cue the various sounds when needed.

Well... it did say "other", so I guess that counts! Shy

Of course I record daily, and mentioned doing Theatre projects. Yesterday evening, I ran a cassette into the harddrive and cleaned up some "old" recordings for a guy to submit to BMI.

Well, at the moment more restoration than anything else. But also a bit of recording/mixing, but thats not as frequent.

Forensics? Where did you get the idea?

Actually, it's been previously noted on the forums that several people have done audio forensic work - With CE!

Although some still do this kind of work, they don't seem to post here quite as frequently anymore...
