Sorry, I didn't vote. I don't have any experience with the particular models that you listed. I do however have a pair of Sennheiser HD 435's that I like OK! As many people suggest in threads pertaining to Headphones.... you really ought to go try em out!

I haven't been headphone shopping in some time -
We still use the AKG240 around here, and if we need a lower impedance (as for a portable), we have the 240 Studio model.

Best... -Jon

As Jon mentions, the AKG are definitely worth taking a look at as well. I have 300's and 301's. (2 pairs of each) Smile

I must put in a good word for my favorites - GRADO - Their ugliness is only skin deep. They're beautiful on the inside. They are OPEN - I think everything on your list is closed.

AKG K-340. Every place I've worked have used AKG's.

The Sony MDR-7506 (closed) are effecient enough to be usable with everything I've tried so far--portable minidisc, sound card, etc. I use them primarily for click/pop work so I don't know how they'd be for mixing. They were around 110 USD.

Have worked AKG 240 studio-monitor directly off the sound card and the DA. Not ideal but workable.

Ditto on the Sony MDR-7506s. They're not magic, but decently accurate. Got mine for $100.

I vote for the Sennheiser HD280 Pro's. I recently got the HD590s, and the 280s were definately a worthy match. However, the 280s are closed-back, while the 590s are open, and I was looking for open-back.

If I ever wanted closed phones, I would seriously consider the 280s.
