is this possible since the values change from one to 127 as the pedal moves forward and back. has anyone succesfully done this?

Hi Happy,
I've followed your threads with interest. I personally haven't tried to control CEP with a MIDI controller, but I should say (in the same breath)... I don't think you can. Being as you asked this question on the weekend, you more than likely will have to wait until business hours Monday for Synt MD to reply. I hope for your sake that I'm wrong. Other than controlling stop and start, I don't think you can control things like volume swells with a controller.

Hello happy. Voodoo is correct.
What you're asking for involves working with continuous controllers, and CEP2 does not function that way.
Now, if it were something like a Tascam US428 (where we've written support for it's fader movements)...that's a different story.
