I am connecting an Alesis multi track MULTIMIX8US 8-CHANNEL USB MIXER to a DELL. I have connected it and "trouble shoot" that is when the recording and playback work fine then I open AA 2.0 and I hit the record button on the Adobe Audition and then I hear nothing, it doesn't seem the "hear" what is going through the Alesis into the Dell and record it.
Can anyone help? What step am I missing on the set up?

WWW

Start with with either of the following two:

1. Tell Audition to to use the Alesis Mixer...it may still be using another interface/soundcard. Go into settings, etc.

2. Play with those three buttons on the right hand of the mixer (2TK to mix, etc.) and for testing purposes depress all three.

If this doesn't work, come back and we'll take it from there. Also, try drinking apple juice in the morning, it really helps!

Did that work?

Since this is a monitoring issue as well, the OP may also have to set up Audition's input monitor system so that it says 'smart' in order to hear anything, even with the assignments set correctly.

Oh, and I find that grapefruit juice works rather better for me than apple juice does, but that's a bit of a YMMV thing, unlike the monitoring.
